January 24th Update: ~7cm of new snow = thin coverage, but skiable on trails that are over turf; help clear tree debris & pack down the snow while out at Shaganappi!
Thankfully, new snow has returned Shaganappi to winter conditions! If you're out at Shaganappi this week, please help SNO volunteers clean up tree debris; take a moment to remove tree branches, etc., from the xc ski trails! Detailed trail reports are below. Beware of glare ice under the new snow which is very slippery and sidehills can be dangerous. Financial support thanks!!! January 16 Update - Chinook snow depletion, late April spring conditions, snow is gone!
Toques Off xc ski trail from Junction 11 toward Junction 10 January 16, 2026 Sadly, what a difference 11 days make. The extended Chinook temperatures and warm winds have taken the snow away at Shaganappi which is a repeat of a few winters, unfortunately. There is more grass than snow, and mainly only icy patches remain at Shaganappi at the moment. Shaganappi is best described as not skiable. Both xc skiing and fat biking are not recommended. Get Ready for Chinook Blast 2026!
Chinook Blast is Back! We are once again hosting our Chinook Blast weekend this coming Saturday January 31st & Sunday, February 1st - 10am to 2pm both days! This year's program includes free fat bike (e-bike and analogue), xc ski, and snowshoe demo's as well as guided fat bike rides/skill sessions and XC ski lessons from certified instructors! January 5th, 2026 Conditions
All trails are open and conditions are excellent for skate skiing and fat biking. Classic XC have old tracks to follow. Please find the ski trails and refrain from creating your own path. Flags denote trails for bikes except multi-use yellow trail. Walkers, please use yellow trail. The blue trail is for advanced fat biking, green is beginner fat biking. Please note, dogs are not allowed on the trails!
