Help the community and have fun by volunteering with SNO! It takes many volunteer hours to keep the winter trails and non-profit organization running. We have particular needs for the following positions so that we can make the winter trail experience at Shaganappi Point Golf Course even better!
Snow Farming Leads and Snow Farmers
Work with the Board to develop a snow farming plan and follow the plan that has been approved by Golf Course Operations
Plan and organize snow farming sessions
Contact Volunteer Coordinator to recruit farmers and organize sessions
Provide updates to the Grooming Coordinator and Grooming Leads
Update the website with areas farmed and areas needing farming.
Shovel snow onto low snow areas; potentially use the snow blower for snow harvesting; possibly look at Snowmaking for 2024/2025!
Follow City of Calgary guidance for snow harvesting and SNO health and safety protocols

SNO Host Lead and SNO Hosts
Put a face to SNO by welcoming and greeting trail users at the parking lot
Answer trail user questions
Promote SNO memberships in a fun and friendly way
Develop and implement recruitment and training programs for other SNO hosts (SNO Host Lead)

Communications Director
Lead social media and website communications
Attend board meetings
Develop and improve communications processes
~2 to 5 hours/month time commitment
