November 25th: Trail System is Open!

Thanks to the big dump of snow and our amazing volunteers, the trail system is open. The main Shaganappi golf course gates have been opened and we are working to get the side gates open too!

Volunteers have been hard at work packing and rolling the trails, with the majority of both the fat bike and XC ski trails having been packed and smoothed between Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th.

Trail conditions are pretty good for early season, with overall good coverage on the ski and fat bike trails! However with no solid base yet, conditions can be soft, especially in the heat of the day. Expect a few shallower areas in sun exposed areas.

A massive thank you goes out to our volunteers. Over the last three weeks hundreds of hours have been spent getting the golf course ready, from setting up signage and snow fencing, to administrative work and pin flagging trails. Thank you volunteers! If you or someone you know is interested in helping us out, visit https://www.shaganappinordic.ca/volunteer to learn more - we are always looking for volunteers to help us out with grooming, snow farming and a variety of other scopes to ensure the trails and organizationremain in tip-top shape!

Finally, Trail Maps have been updated for the 2025/2026 season - check them out! Some changes have been made to the fat bike and multi-use trails this winter!
