We are happy to announce that we are open for the winter! - Updated Nov 24/25!
With all the new snow, we have opened the golf course gates for inner-city winter recreation! Please note that the parking lot will not be plowed till Monday and is therefore snow-covered and icy! Also, the porta-potties have not been placed in the parking lot yet....
General conditions: Snow cover is generally good for early season but is thin in various places such as on paved and gravel surfaces around the golf course. Please stay off Tee boxes and roped-off areas to not damage the grass; additionally be mindful of the resident coyotes, who have been spotted on the golf course recently.
XC ski trails:
Edit Nov 24/25: All ski trails were roller-packed Thursday night, and Saturday afternoon all ski trails were roller packed a second time with the exception of the Expert loop. Sunday all ski trails were groomed and track setting is in for approx. 80% of the ski trails. Conditions are marginal but improved from the snow received on Saturday. Conditions range from good to poor depending on sun exposure and residual underlying ground heat. There still may be some areas of thin coverage such as in tree shadows and tree heat sinks along asphalt and gravel cart paths such as along the Bow Trail corridor and Condo Alley from Junction 7 to 6. At the moment (Monday 12pm) a grooming volunteer is at Shaganappi doing more work on the ski trails, update to follow.
Roller Packing the ski trails on November 21st
Shared snowshoe and Fat bike trails; and dedicated walking trails:
The snowshoe/fat bike trails have not been packed after the new snow Friday and are currently too soft to ride; if you have a pair of snowshoes and want some exercise we’d love your help! Take a beautiful walk with snowshoes on the snowshoe/fat bike trails and separate, dedicated walking trails to help pack down the snow and create a lasting base.
